In December 2004, the
Enfield Directorate of Barnet, Enfield & Haringey Mental Health Trust
launched its Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Service. This service,
providing help in crisis and a real alternative to hospital admission,
comprises two multi-disciplinary teams including several STR Worker posts.
Tulip and MIND in Haringey formed a partnership together with the Trust to
recruit to the STR Worker posts.

Tulip
now employs two STR Workers and seconds them into the Trust Crisis
Service. This brings the skills, expertise, values and experience of the
voluntary sector, with its strong local connections to service users and
communities, into the Trust, thus combining the strengths of both sectors.
STR
Workers are pivotal members of the teams. They support the clinical work
of the medical and social work staff by focussing on working alongside
service users, helping with the realities of day-to-day living and
connecting with communities, families and social networks.
